Most people see Blogger as a simple blogging platform. However, when combined with Firebase, it transforms into a powerful, free, and serverless hosting environment for modern Web Applications.
Step 1: Access the Platform
First, open your browser and go to Blogger.com. This is a free service provided by Google.
Step 2: Sign In
Click the "Sign In" button at the top right corner. Use your Gmail/Google account to log in.
Step 3: Create a New Blog
After logging in, click the "Create Your Blog" button or the "New Blog" option in the sidebar.
Step 4: Choose a Name (Title)
A popup will appear asking for a Title. This is the name displayed at the top of your website
Example: Vims Company | Firebase App Hub.
Step 5: Set Your Web Address (URL)
Enter your desired web address. It will end with
.blogspot.com
Tip: Keep it short, easy to remember, and contain your brand keyword. You need to choose a unique address (e.g., vimscompany.blogspot.com).
Step 6: Advanced Security Configuration (HTTPS)
Google prioritizes websites with HTTPS. In the Blogger dashboard, navigate to Settings > HTTPS. This step is mandatory to ensure user trust and to enable future Firebase integrations.
- Set HTTPS availability to YES.
- Set HTTPS redirect to YES.
Step 7: Privacy & Web App Indexing Control
If your Blogspot serves as a private Web App or an internal tool, you should hide it from search results. First, navigate to Settings and locate the Privacy section.
Toggle the "Visible to search engines" option to OFF. This prevent Google and other engines from indexing your application.
